National Hunger Awareness Day

Food insecurity and hunger are facts of life for millions of individuals in the United States and can produce physical, mental, and social impairments.

Recent data published by the Department of Agriculture show over 48 million individuals in the United States live in households experiencing hunger or food shortage, and of that number, 32 million adults and over 16 million are children.

Today, we observe National Hunger Awareness Day. This is your chance to help someone else in need. I call on you to find a shelter or food bank to support or volunteer. Spread the word and lend a hand.

Here are a few of the Food Banks/Hunger Relief Charities I found online.

Foodbank of Southern California

Food Finders

San Francisco Food Bank

Seattle Food Bank

Three Square (Las Vegas)

United Food Bank (AZ)

Harvest Hope (SC)
